West Ham United are among the clubs in the mix for Honduras international Alberth Elis.
The forward arrived in Europe when Portuguese side Boavista signed him in 2020. After managing eight goals and six assists last season, Boavista let him join Bordeaux on a loan deal [with an option to buy] last summer.
Elis has nine goals and an assist to his name and has been involved in more than 20 percent of the goals [48] scored by the French club in the league. However, Bordeaux are currently at the bottom of the table, seven points behind 17th placed Lorient.
According to Honduras’ Diario Diez, the 26-year-old is one of the Bordeaux players who has no plans to continue with the Ligue 1 side next season.
The attacker will have to return to his parent club. However, he is unlikely to stay there since he has several options to change clubs and ‘could be transferred to a better league’ in the summer.
West Ham are tagged as the report adds Elis is ‘on the radar’ of the Hammers, VfL Wolfsburg, Rayo Vallecano and Fiorentina.
A potential deal could be made complicated due to Bordeaux’s desire to make his loan deal permanent. The player, however, doesn’t want to play in the second division.
