Earlier today, we covered claims from Sky Italia explaining that Inter Milan’s chance of signing Arturo Vidal in the winter market hinges on Ernesto Valverde’s future at Barcelona.

If the La Liga winners part ways with their manager, the Chilean could continue at the Camp Nou until the end of the season.

Tuttosport claims Inter chief Giuseppe Marotta will accelerate efforts to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, if Vidal doesn’t arrive at the San Siro.

The Serie A side have been working for months to sign the 27-year-old on a free transfer.

Spurs are willing to do business for the Dane in January for a fee of around €20m and with the Vidal situation, Marotta has started to think about the possibility of signing Eriksen in January.

It’s claimed Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots is expected in Milan, where he could meet Marotta today. The Inter chief has already proposed a contract worth €10m per season, if he agrees to join the Nerazzurri in July.

With Inter changing plans, they could offer their own player to Tottenham in order to lower the price tag for Eriksen in the ongoing window.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has also relayed Tuttosport’s information.

They state contacts between Schoots and Inter have been ongoing for a long time and Eriksen is demanding salary of €10m per season.

Inter will take a decision on when to move for Eriksen once they have more clarity on the Vidal case.
