Chelsea are pushing to sign Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque and may be willing to let Pierre Emerick Aubameyang re-join Barcelona to get him ahead of the Catalans.

That’s according to Sport, who cover the situation about the strikers today and how Chelsea may have a solution to their own forward issues.

They explain that Barcelona are considering two ‘radically different options’ to bolster their forward line. The first option is to bet on the future and move for Roque, who has been approved by Xavi and the club’s technical secretariat.

The problem, though, is his price tag, which is €40m, and the strong competition from the Premier League, with Chelsea one of the sides who ‘push a lot’ to secure his signature.

The ‘low cost’ option is bringing Aubameyang back from Chelsea. That’s an option Barcelona would like to take up if it doesn’t cost a lot and the striker agrees to reduce his wages by at least half. The latter is something he has indicated he is willing to do.

Thus, he is the better option at this moment in time, although Roque has made it clear he would prefer to move to the Camp Nou than Stamford Bridge.

The answer, though, is an obvious one. If Chelsea make a deal for Aubameyang a simple one, that reduces Barcelona’s need and presumably their interest in Roque.

The Blues could even strike a deal for Barcelona to pull out of the race for Roque and let them have Aubameyang for a low cost, or even nothing. That’s just a suggestion on our part, to be clear, but it’s an obvious solution that would make all parties happy.
