Chelsea’s Tiémoué Bakayoko spent last season on loan at AC Milan and the Italians had an option to make the midfielder’s transfer permanent.
However, Milan didn’t want to meet Chelsea’s demands for the transfer and the Blues then allowed him to join AS Monaco on a temporary deal. The Ligue 1 side have an option to make the stay permanent.
The Frenchman was at the San Siro to watch the derby clash between the Rossoneri and Inter Milan at the weekend.
Calciomercato.it claims the love story between the 25-year-old and Milan ‘has never gone down’.
There’s a possibility that Frank Lampard’s side could put Bakayoko back on the transfer market, if he returns to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Bakayoko’s contract expires in 2022 and with a year less in the current deal, his price tag ‘could have really dropped’, and this, coupled with Milan’s ‘desire’ to acquire his services, could ‘make the difference’.
Calciomercato are of the belief the Chelsea owned midfielder would ‘rush back to Milan’, but the latter need to make room by allowing one of their current players to leave the club.
That’s likely to see more rumours about Franck Kessie’s future.
Despite the Italian hope, a lot depends on how AS Monaco see things.
