Following Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea from Napoli, Jorginho was once again trusted with creating attacks from deep by his manager, becoming a key part of Chelsea’s plans from day one.
The Italy international has started 97% of the Blues’ games this season, missing just one game, a 2-1 loss to Wolves back in December.
Jorginho’s name has become so synonymous with Sarri’s these days that speculation sending the manager to Juventus has led to the press asking the midfielder if he would follow him to Turin.
Relayed by CalcioNapoli24, he said: “I see this as a very positive season. We’re on the right path. Will I go with Sarri to Juventus? I don’t know. I have four years of contract here (laughs).
“I would be surprised to not have him at Chelsea anymore. We came third in the league and have reached the finals of the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. Regardless of criticism, he’s done really well. He’s more serene now than any other time in the season.”
Preparing to face Arsenal in Baku on May 29th, Sarri and Chelsea fans will learn more about the club’s future in the coming weeks.
An article in Gazzetta dello Sport last week suggested the former Napoli manager would get replaced regardless of the Europa League final’s outcome, which would, in itself, put Jorginho’s future in doubt.
However, until either of those things happen, these kind of questions by the media are just there to fuel already existing transfer speculation.
