While Pini Zahavi is currently trying to sort out Robert Lewandowski’s future, having taken the Polish striker under his wing, the super agent also tried to help out Thomas Tuchel to get a new job.
According to L’Equipe, the German manager, who is the very strong favourite to replace Unai Emery at Paris Saint-Germain, was offered by Zahavi to Chelsea in early 2018.
The agent isn’t Tuchel’s official representative, but he was given a mandate by the Stamford Bridge side to help with Antonio Conte’s successor.
Chelsea are said to have studied the possibility of employing the former Borussia Dortmund manager, but it seems they decided to look elsewhere, since Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday claim they’re making moves for Maurizio Sarri.
As for Paris Saint-Germain, while Pini Zahavi played a huge part in the Neymar transfer, he had nothing to do with Thomas Tuchel, who negotiated through a whole different network.
If true, this shows Chelsea have been thinking about Antonio Conte’s future for a while now, and confirms everyone’s suspicions the Italian might not have very long left at Stamford Bridge.
