What does Pogba have to do to please everyone?
Decisive in France’s last two games, scoring against both the Netherlands and Sweden, the Manchester United midfielder still cannot seem to convince pundits and players alike.
Discussing the matter were former France left-back Bixente Lizarazu and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba on the former’s radio show on RTL.
Speaking about the Manchester United star, Drogba said: “Pogba for me still has a lot to show with the France team. He’s already the boss, but he still has a lot to bring to this team.
“There needs to be a coach who insists on making him play simpler football so that it becomes a habit. If you leave him the freedom to express himself, it’s certain that at one point, he might do one trick too many. But if there’s a coach who straightens him out, I think he’ll adapt nicely.”
Given a certain freedom at Juventus in a 4-3-3 with the likes of Marchisio, Khedira and, at one stage, Arturo Vidal mopping up behind him, his two managers’ insistence to play 4-2-3-1 has caused a few issues in his game.
However, as Drogba goes on to explain, with Mourinho at Manchester United and Didier Deschamps, a former defensive midfielder, managing him, that won’t take too long.
