Olivier Giroud’s move to AC Milan has left Chelsea with Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi as the recognised strikers in their squad.

The German wasn’t consistent in his debut season in the Premier League, while Abraham’s future seems to be away from Stamford Bridge as he’s not appreciated by Thomas Tuchel.

Therefore, the Blues are in the market for a new striker and in their shortlist of targets is the name of Romelu Lukaku.

According to Sky Italia, the west London club submitted a ‘super offer’ of €100m for the 28-year-old and are also willing to include Marcos Alonso as part of the deal.

Inter Milan have said ‘no’ to the Champions League winners’ ‘very high offer’ that includes €100m plus Alonso, because they have ‘no intention of opening any negotiations’ for their star’s sale.

The ‘scenario could only change’ if the Belgium international ‘takes a stand’ and asks to leave the San Siro. As of now, the former Everton man has not requested to leave the Serie A winners.

If Chelsea ‘insist on trying to buy’ Lukaku by raising the offer, then the player will have to ‘take a clear position’ for any possible transfer to take place this summer.
