Gabriel Magalhães, simply known as Gabriel, arrived in Europe when Lille acquired his services from Brazilian side Avaí in 2017.
The centre-back started featuring regularly for the Ligue 1 side at the start of last year and has become one of the key figures in his side’s defence.
His performances have caught attention from the Premier League, with Chelsea, Everton and Arsenal believed to be looking at him.
This is according to France Football, who reports the Blues and Mikel Arteta’s side have ‘expressed an interest’ in the Brazilian.
It’s also claimed the player could leave his current employer in the upcoming transfer window.
Gabriel’s contract with the French club will run down in 2023 and according to France Football, Christophe Galtier’s side are looking for a fee of around €25-30m for the defender.
Although the fee looks reasonable for the two London clubs to sign the South American, Frank Lampard’s side and the Gunners are ‘well behind’ Everton in the race for Gabriel.
