According to a claim in the Turkish media, French club Marseille are set to battle with West Bromwich Albion for the signing of Domagoj Vida, with Slaven Bilic’s side reportedly ready to make an offer to sign the Croatian defender.
We covered claims from the Turkish media this week which said Bilic is keen to bring in his compatriot and they will make an offer if he guides West Brom back to the Premier League.
Today, Aksam report Marseille are also in the frame for the 30 year old, who Besiktas are looking to sell because of their poor financial situation. Vida is currently the highest earner at the club and the Black Eagles will be looking to get him off their wage bill for next season.
Aksam also claim West Brom are ‘knocking on the door’ to sign Vida, and they are ready to offer €6m to secure his services.
Vida has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League clubs in the past, but he ended up staying in Istanbul.
His contract at the Vodafone Park will expire at the end of June 2022.
