Chelsea have seen their first €40m offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana ‘rejected’ by the Italian club.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say that work will be done ‘next week’ to work out a deal that suits all parties involved.

They explain that Inter’s market is set to take off next week following the Champions League final with Manchester City on Saturday evening.

The first name to ‘crop up’ in negotiations is that of Onana, who has been in Chelsea’s sights for weeks as they look for a new number one for next season.

According to TMW’s information, the goalkeeper would like to go to the Premier League and already has an agreement in principle in place with the Blues.

However, a deal is not yet on the cards as Chelsea have seen their first offer for the player ‘rejected by the Nerazzurri club’.

Negotiations have been put on hold until ‘next week’ once the Champions League final is done with, at which point work will be done to unblock the situation.

Romelu Lukaku is likely to feature heavily as the striker has never hidden the fact, he wants to stay at Inter Milan and so could be a part of the deal.

The feeling at the club is the ‘white smoke’ can be reached at some point, but Chelsea will either have to up their offer or work something else out if that is to happen.
