A week ago, L’Equipe reported Thomas Tuchel would push for Chelsea to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe this summer.

It was also explained the Ligue 1 winners are ready to sell the defender as they are not happy with certain comments made by him in recent weeks.

On Wednesday, reports in England explained Chelsea have started talks with PSG to sign the 26-year-old. These claims are relayed by Foot Mercato, who then provide their own update on this case.

The website states PSG are dissatisfied with statements made by the France international while with the national team last month. Therefore, they could ‘consider his departure’ in the ongoing window.

Foot Mercato then add the Blues have contacted the centre-back’s agent to complete the operation as quickly as possible. Apart from Chelsea, Juventus are in the picture to sign him and they have contacted the French club to find out the player’s asking price.

It’s claimed Kimpembe ‘prefers England’ over a move to Italy. This is sufficient to tip the scales in the favour of Chelsea, who have ‘started discussions’ to secure the Frenchman’s services.
