A few weeks ago, the Portuguese media had been making a huge coverage of Chelsea’s pursuit of Sporting midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Despite the Blues’ efforts for the signing, they ended up losing the race to Paris Saint-Germain, who entered the talks and soon announced the transfer.
Now as we’ve been seeing some news on the future of Fluminense star André, journalist Bruno Andrade shares some interesting information on what recently happened between Chelsea and the player.
It’s claimed that while the Blues tried to sign Ugarte from Sporting, they, ‘through Jorge Mendes’, ‘considered buying’ the Brazilian to loan him out to the Lions. That would have been to help convince the Lisbon side of letting their own player move to Stamford Bridge.
That’s because, in a new story from Andrade, it’s claimed that Jorge Mendes is helping the midfielder to get a move to the Premier League.
So in case Chelsea are still interested, that seems like a good chance to sign him, as he’s been standing out in Brazil lately. Even if the Blues want to sign him now and loan him out.
