Earlier on Monday, we covered an article from the Italian media that claimed Chelsea were interested in a French midfielder.
That man is Aurélien Tchouaméni, and with AS Monaco reportedly valuing him at around €35-40m, there certainly is a deal to be made there.
That being said, it appears Chelsea are covering their bases and looking at other names to bolster the centre of the park, as Foot Mercato explain the Blues are also tracking Christopher Nkunku.
The former Paris Saint-Germain player is quickly becoming the star of the show at RB Leipzig these days, and the website reveal that three clubs are definitely after him.
Those are Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City, with it explained that Thomas Tuchel might have something to do with his team’s inclusion, since he is the manager who gave him the most time on the pitch back when he was still at the aforementioned Ligue 1 club.
He wasn’t able to get him to stay, which led to his move to Leipzig, but the two, if the German has his way, could certainly end up reunited at Stamford Bridge, should he really try and push for Nkunku’s signature.
We’ll have to wait and see, but it seems Chelsea really are on the market for a new midfielder, although it’s fair to say that Tchouaméni and the Bundesliga star do offer slightly different profiles.
Heck, why not sign both?
