Converted to an attacking right wing-back by Antonio Conte at Chelsea, Victor Moses remains an attacking minded player for his country, called up by Nigeria for the upcoming clash against Algeria.
The 25-year-old has, to everyone’s surprise, quickly become an important part of the Italian’s plans this season, already making 12 appearances for the Blues, scoring three goals and picking up an assist along the way.
Missing the last international break due to a knock, the player was called back once again to represent his country, but a few have questioned his commitment towards his national team duties, something the player addressed in a press conference on Thursday.
Relayed by Premium Times, he said: “Whenever I get called up for Nigeria, I want to give 100 per cent and I want to play for the Super Eagles.
“Whenever I’m out there, to be honest with you, I want to die on that pitch. I love the Super Eagles so much and I still want to represent Nigeria and make the whole nation proud.”
With 24 caps already to his name after choosing to represent Nigeria, despite playing for England’s U21s, the winger has scored seven goals for the Super Eagles.
He’ll be looking to add another one to his tally, hopefully alongside forgotten Chelsea teammate, and Nigeria captain, John Obi Mikel.
