Celtic have been sent a potential ‘harbinger’ of doom for tonight’s clash with Feyenoord after seeing their youth side played off the park by Robin van Persie’s side.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who say the Dutch youngsters set ‘a good example’ for their senior counterparts ahead of the Celtic clash in the Champions League.
The newspaper explains that if the result in the clash between the two youth sides is anything to go by, then it will be a ‘beautiful evening’ for the Dutch side at De Kuip.
The Scots ‘were not involved’ in proceedings and tried to keep the scoreline respectable but in reality, according to De Telegraph, were lucky to do so as Van Persie’s side enjoyed near total domination.
De Telegraaf explain that the 2,000 watching, including many former players and Santiago Gimenez, who is suspended for the clash with Celtic, saw ‘beautiful examples of football’, including a Feyenoord goalkeeper who spent more time near the centre circle than in his own penalty area.
It makes for grim reading if you’re in any way associated with Celtic, whose first team have some work to do this evening after the disappointment for their youth side.
