Dedryck Boyata’s fortunes at Celtic are certainly looking up. After it appearing he had no future at Celtic Park, with Brendan Rodgers pushing the player away from his plans, Boyata has shown how things can change very quickly.
Rodgers was full of praise for Boyata after Celtic’s win over Albion Rovers, and the 26 year old may have finally turned a corner in his career with the Glasgow club.
Hinting that he could now stay in the Celtic side for a longer spell, Rodgers made it clear he was pleased with Boyata and said he’d shown some of the play which made him a highly rated youngster at Manchester City.
It’s come just about in time, because DH in Belgium explain that those representing Boyata had been, at least tentatively, working on a Celtic exit.
The ‘player’s entourage was looking for a way out’, say DH, but now everything looks to have changed and Boyata winning back some faith from Rodgers could see the defender stay where he is.
Boyata has a contract with Celtic running until the end of May 2019.
