It appears that Celtic are finally going to be able to get rid of Christopher Jullien after trying to do so throughout the summer.

The Frenchman came close to a move to Germany earlier on in the transfer window, but it appears it’s France he will be heading to, according to L’Equipe.

The 29-year-old hasn’t featured under Ange Postecoglou this season at the Parkhead club, and the newspaper report the player will be signing for Montpellier.

In fact, he should ‘arrive on Tuesday to undergo his medical’, and that’s where the issue could be, as he ‘hasn’t played for a year and a half’ for Celtic bar a few minutes in the cup.

L’Equipe make it clear that Montpellier will be ‘very attentive’ to the medical examinations despite Jullien ‘reassuring’ them that he’s been fit and ready to go ‘since January’.

As for the details of his Celtic exit, it’s said Postecoglou’s club ‘could free him of the final year of his contract’, and it also might be too soon for him to feature in Montpellier’s next game against Brest on Sunday.

We’ll have to wait and see, but Jullien could very well be on his way out of Celtic Park. Finally.
