According to Turkish newspaper Vatan, Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic is expected to get a move to England, which will come as a blow to Celtic

The Scottish Premiership champions have been linked with the Serbian as Brenden Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad in the new year.

The 32 year old central defender has been one of the most consistent players for Besiktas this season and his performances have earned him a few admirers, including Celtic.

Vatan say the clubs who are interested in Tosic and are ready to pay €3.5m, and that the Besiktas board may be tempted to consider selling the central defender in bid in this region.

Last month, we covered reports from the Turkish press that Celtic wanted to bolster their defensive options in January, and Tosic could be brought in by the Scottish Premiership champions.

It was claimed Celtic were ready to table a bid in the region of €3m to sign the former QPR player.

The Serbia international would be brought in as competition for Eric Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata.
