Fenerbahce are looking to life without their left back Hasan Ali Kaldirim, following reports the Turkish club are looking at possible replacements. Hasan Ali will be a free agent at the end of June, with claims last week Celtic are again in talks to sign the Turkey international.
Fanatik have reported Fenerbahce are being linked with a move for Watford’s Jose Holebas and former Manchester City defender Gael Clichy. It’s been claimed the Turkish side’s first choice is Clichy, but if the Frenchman’s demands are too high then they’ll switch their attention to Holebas.
Given the credentials of the two left backs and the salary they will be demanding, this puts a question mark over the future of Hasan Ali. That could be a plus for Brendan Rodgers’ hopes to get the player to Celtic Park.
Last week we covered reports from Turkey that Celtic are back in talks with Hasan Ali’s agent after initial discussions earlier in the year. During the first talks with his agent the Scottish Premiership side offered personal terms to join them this summer, plus a signing on fee.
The defender is still unhappy with Fenerbahce’s latest contract offer, and Celtic are looking to take advantage of the situation. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in Hasan Ali to provide competition within his squad, and these latest developments will come as boost to the Scottish club.
