Celtic are one of a number of clubs interested in Giovanni Troupee, according to an FC Utrecht website. The Scottish Premiership club are joined by others including Middlesbrough, Bournemouth, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Whilst all the clubs mentioned are said to send their scouts to watch Troupee weekly, it’s Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic who are held aloft as the keenest. Celtic are said to have ‘the biggest plans’ to sign Troupee, making their interest seem rather more serious than simply at the scouting stage.
Troupee is a 19 year old right back with a contract at FC Utrecht until June 2019. The potential price Celtic would have to pay is put at a minimum of €2m, with the fee perhaps going as high as €4.5m in a best case scenario for the Dutch club.
Rodgers could see Troupee as a youngster to provide competition to Mikael Lustig and others at Celtic, and someone available at reasonable price.
