According to Greek website Sdna.Gr, AEK sporting director Ilija Ivic is considering selling Vasilios Barkas, and Celtic have once again been linked with a move for the goalkeeper.

There have been reports in the Greek media in recent weeks that Celtic manager Neil Lennon could look to bring in an experienced goalkeeper either in January or next summer.

It’s reported AEK are looking to strengthen their squad in January, but they may have to part ways with some of their players to fund these moves, including Barkas.

Sdna.Gr claim Celtic are ‘already considering all the parameters’ with regards to signing the player ahead of a potential January bid.

Previous reports said the Scottish Premiership champions would wait until the next summer transfer window to make a move for him.

AEK are looking for a fee in the region of €7-8m for the 25 year old but Sdna report they may be open to negotiation. The Greek giants already have Panagiotis Tsintotas as his possible replacement.

Barkas’ contract with the Athens club will expire at the end of June 2022.
