Turkish newspaper Fanatik report Burnley midfielder Steven Defour is a possible target for Besiktas.
The Belgian international could leave the Premier League side this summer after being frozen out at Burnley in the second half of last season.
Fanatik say Defour is a target for Besiktas, as the Turkish side look to defend their league title. With Champions League football also secured for next season the Black Eagles need to bring in reinforcements this summer, and the Burnley player is an option for the Turkish giants.
Defour hasn’t had the first season he expected at Burnley, and an exit has been on the cards for some time. Originally it had been thought Defour would move to the Middle East, having been close to moving there before choosing Burnley.
Besiktas could give Defour both the good wages he’s looking for and football at a high level in the Champions League. Combined with the fanaticism for football in Turkey, it’s not a bad proposition.
