Burnley FC could be a potential option for Club Brugge’s Jack Hendry, according to a claim coming out of Belgium today.
The centre-back joined the Jupiler Pro League winners from KV Oostende in 2021 and made 32 appearances in all competitions, including six starts in the Champions League last season.
He lost prominence at Club Brugge in this calendar year as the 27-year-old made only five league appearances that didn’t include a start since the end of January.
The defender was also left out of the squad for the Belgian Super Cup final victory over Gent on July 17th.
Lack of game time with his current employer may provide Burnley an opportunity to sign the Scotland international this summer.
Wednesday’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad states the player would ‘aim for a departure’ from Club Brugge if his situation there doesn’t improve in the coming weeks.
When discussing his suitors, Vincent Kompany’s side are the only club mentioned.
The report states Burnley are among clubs ‘already lurking’ to sign Hendry.
Time should tell whether the Scotsman will join the Championship side if he decides to leave Club Brugge.
