Newcastle United are set to send scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan N’Dicka in the German side’s clash with West Ham in the Europa League.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the 22-year-old could be available as the Bundesliga side plan to renew or sell this summer.
They explain that the 22-year-old is Frankfurt’s ‘star defender’, and that means there is interest in him from around Europe.
Newcastle are one of those who are keen, and ‘he will be scouted’ by the Magpies on Thursday when Eintracht take on West Ham in the second leg of their Europa League meetings.
They are one of several interested parties in the Frenchman, with Marseille and Monaco having been in touch with his advisors.
At the beginning of the year, Eintracht had tried to get the defender to extend his contract, but that’s fallen by the wayside as the player doesn’t want to extend beyond his current deal, which expires in 2023.
Thus the German side need to line up a deal and will sell for at least €20m, a big profit on the £4.95m they paid Auxerre in July 2018.
€20m is a figure Newcastle could easily afford given their finances, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for his name this summer, particularly if he impresses against the Hammers on Thursday.
