Normally linked with Fulham, Saint-Etienne’s Ole Selnaes appears to have a couple more suitors in the Premier League, if Peuple Vert are to be believed.
According to the French website, who are known to pick up some information here and there, the Norwegian midfielder has become a ‘priority’ for Zenit St Petersburg, who would need to spend €20m to acquire his services.
The same applies to Brighton and West Ham, the two Premier League sides named as potential competition for the Russian.
Peuple Vert explain both the Seagulls and the Hammers are ‘interested’ and currently ‘on the lookout’ regarding his situation.
Over at Saint-Etienne, the French side have been trying to get Selnaes to sign a new contract for the past three months, something the player would quite like to get sorted as soon as possible.
For Brighton and West Ham, a fee of €20m would represent quite the investment in the 24-year-old, who can play in front of the defence or a bit further forward in central midfield, especially in January.
We’ll have to wait and see, but we doubt either side will be willing to put that amount on the table, even if the 24-year-old has managed five assists in 17 games so far.
