Last summer, Darwin Núñez moved to Europe after Almería paid Peñarol €8m to acquire his services.
The 21-year-old has impressed in his debut season, scoring 16 goals, and helped the Spanish side qualify for the La Liga 2 playoffs.
His fine displays and goalscoring abilities have drawn attention from Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United and other clubs.
According to La Voz de Almería, the Seagulls and Chris Wilder’s side have ‘taken an interest’ in the Uruguayan.
Those close to the player are claiming the English sides are not the only clubs who have asked about Núñez’s situation.
After consulting with sources in England, La Voz say Brighton and the Blades ‘would be willing to offer around €15m’ for the South American.
This figure seems to fall short of Almería’s valuation as they are hoping to cash in around €20m from the player’s sale this summer.
Apart from the Premier League duo, Real Betis, Valencia, AS Roma and Napoli have also taken interest in the attacker.
Núñez’s immediate focus is on the upcoming playoff fixtures against Girona this week, and he will continue to generate interest, whether or not his side are promoted to La Liga.
