Earlier this week we covered claims from Italy that Fulham and Brighton are keen on signing Thomas Heurtaux. The defender is currently playing for Udinese and has been repeatedly linked with a move to England, without anything having come of it.
Slaviša Jokanović and Chris Hughton were credited with interest in the 28 year old, but now they have competition from France. Lorient are set up for a tussle with Fulham and Brighton, with the French club’s interest reported on Wednesday by L’Equipe.
Heurtaux is a right footed central defender, who can also play right back if required. The availability of an experienced and flexible defender in the January window is what is attracting Fulham and Brighton, and of course Lorient.
The Frenchman has only started 4 Serie A games this season for Udinese, and it’s thought he’s available for transfer during the winter window.
Lorient are currently rock bottom of France’s Ligue 1 and therefore not the most attractive proposition, Brighton and Fulham would also be likely to offer better wages.
