A ‘Premier League auction’ is expected for the Valencia striker Rodrigo next summer, according to reports from the weekend.
Website Calcio Mercato claims that Brighton, Everton and Tottenham are all keen on the player, and should battle against each other in order to land him at the end of the season.
Currently with 16 goals and seven assists this season, the Brazilian is said to be impressing a long list of clubs, and is a candidate to represent Spain at the World Cup, since he’s chosen to play for the country he now lives in.
Calcio Mercato claims that Brighton, Everton and Tottenham are likely to bid at least €40m for him. Quite a decent amount, but still far from his release clause, which is a rather hefty €120m.
It’s interesting to see this report coming from Italy, especially because the Spanish media doesn’t seem to know much about it. They’re actually covering the story today, giving a lot of attention to Tottenham’s interest in the player.
