Brentford midfielder Sergi Canós is waiting in Nules, his hometown in Spain, for Valencia to finalise a deal for him.

That’s according to Super Deporte, who say the Spaniard is waiting for Valencia to sell Yunus Musah and release Edinson Cavani so they can do a deal for him.

Canós has been heavily linked with a move to the Mestalla all summer, with that his dream destination as he is a lifelong fan of the club.

They’ve been unable to strike a deal with Brentford, though, who are demanding a fee for the player and made it clear they won’t accept alternative deals such as a high percentage on a future sale.

That changed this week, with it made clear that Valencia are now willing to match Brentford’s demands as they will have money available from releasing Edinson Cavani.

Super Deporte follow that up and add that the sale of Musah to Milan will also give Valencia the money to make their move for Canós.

They say the Spanish side’s ‘intention’ is to ‘shut down’ a move for the Brentford man as soon as they can but they still need to negotiate with the Bees.

In the meantime, Canós is at his house in Nules ‘waiting to find out’ where he will end up this summer. His ‘desire’ is to play for Valencia, and he’s made that clear on more than one occasion as he’s been a fan since he was a child.

He’s ‘waiting for movements’, which could be coming soon, and is ready to make the trip to get things over the line quickly if Valencia can finally reach an agreement for him.
