Brighton, Brentford and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for Genoa’s Morten Frendrup over the past few months.

In October, it was suggested that Brentford were a favourite to land the midfielder. This came after Liverpool’s interest came to the fore in the summer, but it was stated that Genoa considered Frendrup ‘unsellable’ back then.

It now seems as if the situation has changed. Tuttomercatoweb have reported on the 23-year-old’s future, stating that AC Milan still have Frendrup in their sights and he was courted by Liverpool, Brighton and Brentford in the summer.

Genoa have been burdened by financial issues and as a result, the Dane could leave in the January transfer window.

The Italian club’s asking price was €18-20m in the summer but it has now come down to around €15m for the January transfer window.

Whether the three English clubs make a move for Frendrup next month or not remains to be seen. AC Milan want a rotation option for Youssouf Fofana in midfield and the Genoa man is seen as suitable for that role.
