Liverpool have been rather quiet in the summer transfer window so far, letting Arne Slot get settled before working in the market.
Now it appears there’s keen interest in Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup, but the move might not make progress.
The Danish midfielder impressed in the 2023/24 season and TuttoMercatoWeb spoke of his situation today.
They state that Genoa are currently interested in signing Napoli’s Jens Cajuste and the Partenopei midfielder could leave after just one season. This doesn’t mean that Genoa will sell Frendrup.
It is mentioned that interest from Liverpool and Aston Villa has ‘rained down’ on Frendrup after the season he had under Alberto Gilardino.
There have been requests of information from clubs too, with the report not specifying where those approaches came from. There’s a claim Frendrup is considered ‘unsellable’ by the Rossoblu.
Genoa’s goal for the Liverpool-linked player is to have him partner Cajuste in midfield, instead of having the Napoli man as a replacement for Frendrup.
As ever, money talks and the Reds should have a lot of it left this summer.
