Reports from the Brazilian media continue to claim that Ajax star Antony could be on his way to Manchester United this summer.
What we see today is a story brought by Jorge Nicola which is actually focused on Palmeiras’ wonderkid Giovani.
There it’s said that the Eredivisie giants are placing a bid to sign him this summer.
The signing would be made to replace Antony, and that’s where Manchester United come in. The journalist says the forward ‘should be negotiated’ with the Red Devils, even though there aren’t many more details about it.
This chase had already been reported by the Brazilian media last week, when UOL featured a story saying that the Old Trafford side were along with Liverpool and Newcastle United in the chase for him.
Manchester United were said to have the advantage of having Erik ten Hag on their bench, as he’s been managing Antony at Ajax for the past few years.
Still, it was then claimed the Red Devils were still to place a bid for the forward, and as things stand, it seems the offer is indeed yet to come.
