Roberto De Zerbi’s work at Brighton & Hove Albion seems to be inspiring great confidence for those around him at the club.

Proof of that is an interview former Premier League midfielder Sandro Ranieri has given to the Brazilian media this week.

The 34-year-old, who’s now retired, has been studying to be a manager, and is spending some time with De Zerbi at Brighton. Now in an interview with ESPN Brasil, he brought some details of what he’s been learning there.

Asked about the Seagulls’ boss and the new challenges they’re looking to face, Sandro explained how confident those around the club are that the Italian manager will take them to a new level.

“They’re going to dream of the Champions League. That’s for sure. De Zerbi isn’t messing around,” Sandro told ESPN Brasil.

“The players already understand very well what De Zerbi’s football is all about. It’s very difficult, you’ve seen what it’s like here in the Premier League. You saw the game, they beat Manchester United up there. I’ve played there, I know how difficult it is to beat Manchester there. They’re going to fight hard to be in the Champions League next year.”

Sandro first arrived in England when joining Tottenham in 2010. He played for Spurs for four years, and then featured for Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion as well. He then played in Turkey, Italy, Brazil and Portugal until officially retiring last year.

What is interesting to see is how Brighton became a reference for those studying to be a manager.
