Brazilian side Corinthians are reportedly interested in West Bromwich Albion striker José Salomón Rondon.
According to outlet Lance, the South American club’s search for a number nine has sent them after the 28-year-old, who meets all the requirements the scouts have been looking for.
But it doesn’t mean that Corinthians are close to getting him. Actually, the story has a pretty pessimistic point of view, saying the transfer will be hard to achieve.
Even though West Brom are expected to be relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, Rondon is still wanted in Europe, and several clubs would go for him in the summer.
With the player’s contract with West Brom only expiring next year, Corinthians would also be afraid of spending too much on him. The conversion of Brazilian Reais to British Pounds would make it hard for the club to afford a fee of the Premier League standards.
This is a rumour that barely started, but already seems dead. Unless West Brom release Rondon, or no one bids for him.
