Chelsea star Willian is really leaving the club this summer, according to claims from the Brazilian media today.
Website UOL says the player is not signing a new deal with the Blues, and is leaving for free at the end of his contract.
The report also claims that Willian has been monitored by Barcelona, and could join the Camp Nou side along with national teammate Neymar this summer.
Even though the 31-year-old doesn’t fit Barça’s plans of renewing their squad, he’s said to be seen as a market opportunity, since he’d be signed for free.
UOL claims that Willian’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci has a great relationship with the Catalan club, who had already tried to sign him two years ago.
But the outlet also points out two reasons Coronavirus could spoil the plans. Firstly, because Barcelona, just like any other club, will be struggling with finances during this crisis. Then there’s also the possibility that FIFA may ask players to stay at their clubs after the end of their contracts, so Willian may not be able to move immediately.
