Liverpool have placed a bid for Fluminense youngster Marcelo Pitaluga, according to claims from Brazil at the weekend.
Globo Esporte says the Reds have been in talks for the 17-year-old, and the offer is now in the hands of the Rio de Janeiro side.
The outlet doesn’t say how much the Premier League champions are offering for the goalkeeper, but it’s possible that it will be enough to take him.
It’s said Fluminense see some great potential in the teenager, although may feel forced to sell him due to their difficult economic situation.
Globo Esporte claims that Pitaluga’s family want the transfer. That’s partly because Liverpool offered them a house and will also give his father a job. Since the player has a European passport, that should make things a lot easier for the move to happen.
It’s stated Fluminense rejected offers from other clubs, and now demand that they keep a percentage over a future transfer.
Pitaluga is the club’s fourth choice goalkeeper, and the starting position is currently held by Muriel, who is Alisson’s brother.
Back in February, the three of them took a picture together.
