Rosenborg BK youngster Emanuel Kulego has ended up in the sights of Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, according to Nettavisen.

The 18-year-old has impressed for the Norwegian club’s U16s and U19s, which has seen him feature in the PostNord-ligaen (third division in Norway) this season. Kulego has managed to score one goal in seven appearances.

Even though the striker is yet to make his debut in Norway’s top flight, British clubs have still taken an interest in him.

It’s claimed Rangers have shown interest in the youngster, who is also being chased by the Foxes.

Kulego turned 18 years of age in June and signed a professional contract with Rosenborg at the end of last month. Nettavisen spoke to the teenager to ask him about the interest from Leicester and Rangers.

“I know that some clubs are interested, but nothing more than that. I don’t want to comment much more than that, as I’ve heard a little bit.”

Any potential move to either Leicester or Rangers this summer remains unlikely because the teenager has other plans for his immediate future.

“It’s nice and shows that I have done something good, but I signed a new contract with Rosenborg this summer and will break through here. I want to make my debut in the Eliteserien [top tier in Norway], that is my goal.

“Right now, I would like to have the opportunity here at home as fast as possible, but I’m not impatient and everything has its time. When Rosenborg feel I’m ready then I’m ready. Then we’ll see what happens.”

As per Rosenberg’s official website, Chelsea are Kulego’s favourite club and he’s a big fan of Didier Drogba.
