Everton and Napoli both made offers for the signing of Sporting midfielder Wendel last week, according to reports.
Website Esporte News Mundo says both clubs are fighting for the signing, and it’s the Italian side who are confident they’re landing the Brazilian, since they’ve offered him more money.
It’s not written how much the sides are putting on the table for Sporting, who have the player on a contract until 2023. Wendel is set to make a decision about his future before the end of the season.
The report also claims Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has personally phoned the 22-year-old, so perhaps that’s a sign the Toffees still have a chance in this race.
