Bournemouth’s move for Dean Huijsen may have had an unintended consequence, with Málaga set to benefit enormously.
That’s at least according to Diario Sur, who cover how the Spanish side are set to benefit from Bournemouth’s latest signing and the consequences of that.
They explain that Málaga are set to receive close to €300,000 from the deal taking Huijsen from Juventus to Bournemouth thanks to FIFA’s solidarity scheme.
The defender was trained in Málaga’s academy before moving to Juventus so that means the Spanish side are due a cut of his transfer fees in future courtesy of the scheme, with 5% of the fee being split among the clubs who have trained the player earlier in their career.
In this case that’s going to see Málaga pick up around €300,000 for the defender, who played at various levels in their youth ranks before heading to Italy.
Thus, they’ll receive a pay out from his move to Bournemouth which, coupled with a similar fee coming their way from Sevilla for Youssef En-Nesyri’s move to Fenerbahce, means they’re set to pocket over €500,000 this summer from doing nothing.
That’s potentially set up a summer which could be the ‘most exciting in memory’ for the Spanish second division side, who may use the money to attack the market and strengthen themselves for this season.
