There are surprise claims coming out of Italy West Bromwich Albion are keen to sign Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater. The England international was key in Leicester City’s Premier League title win last season and saw his reputation rise.
TMW have today reported West Brom are looking to sign the Leicester City midfielder in the summer as Tony Pulis looks to strengthen his squad for next season. It’s been claimed West Brom have already contacted Drinkwater’s agent with regards to a move to the Baggies in the next window.
Despite these claims from TMW you need to question why an Italian football outlet would have such information on a Premier League transfer deal, given this hasn’t been reported in the British press. Drinkwater is a key player for Leicester City, and the thought they would sell him to a rival like West Brom is unlikely.
West Brom would have to match the wage increase Drinkwater received after Leicester City won the Premier League, and subsequently a deal would be difficult to complete.
