With Fabio Paratici as their director of football and Antonio Conte as their manager, it’s quite clear to see why Tottenham have been looking at Serie A for a lot of their transfers.
Players such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski were saved from Juventus to shine at Spurs, and there is another on whom eyes are set: Giorgio Scalvini.
Tottenham have been linked with the Atalanta man quite a few times, with it said he had captured the attention of those at the club with his mature performances with the Serie A side.
Capable of playing at the heart of the defence or in front of it as a defensive midfielder, the 19-year-old is a target for many clubs around Europe, and there is a chance he could be sold in the summer.
And, should he depart, the player has his eye on a Premier League move, which is of great benefit to a club like Tottenham, who so happen to play in that very league.
That’s what the player said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport on Friday, when asked about his possible transfer to England.
He explained: “For me, it’s the best league there is, for the intensity. Once in my career, I don’t even know when, I’d like to play in it.”
Well, if Tottenham have their way, that could be very soon, Giorgio.
