With Fabio Paratici as their transfer guru and Antonio Conte as their manager, Tottenham always have an eye on the Italian transfer market.

Their signings for the club to date have shown that, especially when they completed a double swoop for Dejan Kulusevski and Leandro Paredes last January.

With the next transfer window nearly upon us, we are now seeing more players from Italy linked, with new ones appearing here and there.

Previously linked to clubs such as Manchester City and Liverpool, Giorgio Scalvini is now on Tottenham’s transfer list, if Gazzetta dello Sport are to be believed.

The Atalanta prodigy has excelled when called upon by Gian Piero Gasperini, showing great versatility by being able to play both in the centre of defence and in front of it as a defensive midfielder.

This is a trait often lived in the Premier League, especially in ball-playing teams, and we now see Tottenham linked with him.

The newspaper state Gasperini’s ‘child prodigy’ has ‘captured the attention’ of the big names in the Premier League, which includes Spurs.

Basically, ‘the competition is fearsome’, and with Inter also willing to try their luck, the San Siro side want to get ahead of the game.

Atalanta currently value Scalvini at ‘over €40m’, meaning that if Tottenham do want him in January, they will have to fork out a pretty penny to get their man.
