On July 15th, Leeds United confirmed Raphinha had left Elland Road and completed a move to Barcelona for an ‘undisclosed fee’.

The La Liga side issued a statement the same day and also failed to confirm the figures involved.

Barca have managed to get Raphinha from Leeds for a lower price than what has been said elsewhere, according to Marca.

Reports have indicated the Whites will receive between €55m and €58m from the winger’s sale. Contradicting that Marca say they’ve been told the fixed fee Leeds will receive is €48m, and the overall cost of the deal could potentially rise to €60m if certain conditions are met.

The Spanish newspaper gives an insight into the variables as this is the part of the deal that makes those at the Camp Nou ‘happiest’ because these are difficult to achieve.

Among the bonus conditions set, the most important one is Barca winning the Champions League.

If that happens, then Leeds will receive a large part of the €12m. If not, Marca say the overall cost of the deal won’t be far off from the fixed fee, even if other objectives are fulfilled.

Marca explain both Barcelona and Leeds were satisfied with the final agreement reached that allowed Raphinha to seal a switch to the Camp Nou.
