Fanatik claim Anderlecht are showing an interest in Manchester City defender Jason Denayer, despite the player only joining Galatasaray on loan a few months ago.

The 22 year old has struggled for form since his return to Istanbul, and his poor performances have received criticism in the Turkish media.

Earlier this week we covered reports from Turkey that Denayer could be sent back to Manchester City in the new year after failing to make an impact at Galatasaray.

However, the Belgian international doesn’t seem to be in the long-term plans of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and if he did return to the Etihad in January it’s likely he would again be loaned out.

Anderlecht could provide an ideal solution for the Premier League side by possibly taking Denayer until the end of the season. A return to his home country could help kickstart the player’s career, and maybe give him a better chance of making Roberto Martinez’s squad for next summer’s World Cup.

Denayer joined Manchester City as youth player in 2013, but he’s spent most of his time with the club out on loan.
