Thursday saw us cover the Aaron Ramsey saga for the first time in a few days, as we’d decided against relaying articles that kept on saying the same thing i.e. not a lot.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport’s report was so detailed, with intricate details of the contract offered by Juventus being revealed, we decided we’d be doing everyone a disservice by ignoring it.

The gist was that the Serie A champions were offering the Arsenal midfielder a lot of money (up to €6.5m/year and a €9m signing on fee), and said contract had been received ‘with great interest’ by Ramsey’s entourage.

Juventus were labeled as clearly in the lead, and that remains the case on Friday, as the same newspaper explain the Wales international is ‘one step away’ from signing in Turin and will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo next season barring an ‘uproarious U-turn’.

However, this is all for next season, as the Italians are aware it would be difficult to convince the Gunners to let Ramsey go in January, but that won’t stop them from trying, and it’s explained it’s ‘probable’ they’ll give it a go, just like they did with Emre Can.

Things can change, but it’s rare for Gazzetta to go this ‘all in’ unless they’re pretty certain something is done.
