Barcelona star Marc Andre Ter Stegen has revealed he would love to sign West Ham United’s Niklas Füllkrug for the club.
SportBILD have an interview with the goalkeeper today from the “Phrasenmäher” football podcast in which he surprisingly names the West Ham striker as the national teammate he’d love to have at Barcelona.
Füllkrug has endured a difficult time for West Ham this season, with several niggling injuries leaving him out for much of the campaign.
His time in England has so far proven to be a disappointment after he joined West Ham in a €27m deal in the summer following an impressive year at Borussia Dortmund that saw him score 15 and assist 10 in 43 games in all competitions.
He’s only managed to show brief glimpses of that quality at West Ham this season, with three goals and one assist in 13 games but only 538 minutes under his belt.
That wouldn’t stop Ter Stegen from taking him to the Camp Nou, though, insisting he’d love to play alongside his Germany teammate in Spain if given the chance to do so.
“Jamal Musiala, of course, and Florian Wirtz is also amazing, but I’d also like to have ‘Fülle’ (Füllkrug),” he said when asked to name Germany stars, he’d sign.
“Because he’s simply a great guy in the dressing room and a killer in front of goal. Fülle is a funny guy; we had some great team nights. He’s someone you can have a great conversation with and a lot of fun with.”
