Barcelona are making attempts to get Dani Olmo back to the club, reports Wednesday’s edition of Marca.
Olmo left the club in 2014, taking an unusual career decision by deciding to sign for Dinamo Zagreb. The move worked out very well for the 21 year old, who is now a full Spanish international.
Marca report that sources close to the player have told them a ‘formal offer’ has been made by Barcelona. The Spanish newspaper say they’ve been able to confirm the information is correct, and that Barca want to sign the attacker either in January or the next summer window.
A summer move is considered likelier, and Zagreb will be under some pressure to sell given Olmo’s contract expires in 2021.
Despite saying all of that, Marca go on to explain Barcelona are denying having made an offer, although their interest isn’t disputed.
First approaches over a transfer haven’t been ideal, with Zagreb believing they can get a high fee for the player, and Barca presumably wanting to pay a lower price than is desired by the Croatian club.
