Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Diogo Jota has revealed the Championship side have ‘expressed’ intentions to keep him beyond this season.

The Portuguese is currently on loan with Wolves from Atletico Madrid, but they have been claims the English club will make his move permanent in the summer.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, Jota was asked about his future with Wolves: “I’m on loan but the board has expressed their intentions of keeping me, and I want to play in the Premier League.”

Earlier in the season we covered reports from Portugal that Wolves could look to make Jota’s stay permanent, and this is more likely to happen if they get promotion to the Premier League.

Following their 1-0 victory over second placed Cardiff City last week it seems almost certain Wolves will be playing in the top flight next season.

Jota sounds keen, Wolves are likely keen, promotion is on the horizon, it’s all falling into place.

The 21 year old has been key for Wolves this season, scoring 14 league goals in the club’s promotion push.
