It seems this could be really happening. Now after several updates on Chelsea’s pursuit for the Roma striker Edin Dzeko, the local press seems to have some real evidence that the move is being worked on, and perhaps coming close to a conclusion.
As reported by Pagine Romaniste on Monday afternoon, Dzeko’s agent Silvano Martina was spotted at a hotel in Cornaredo, where Roma are staying before the match against Sampdoria.
The reason for the visit is a meeting with Roma director Monchi, who’s responsible for handling the negotiations with the Blues. Dzeko has even been pictured at the hotel in a meeting with the agent, and it’s claimed the Bosnian is ‘one step away’ from a move to Chelsea.
The outlet has the same information as many others: Chelsea will likely be signing Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri on a double deal worth €50m plus €10m in bonuses.
Other reports from Italy today have been claiming that Dzeko has a personal phone call from Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who offered him a salary of €7 per season at the Stamford Bridge.
But despite the initial excitement of a possible announcement in the coming hours, it seems that the transfer is still being agreed.
